AI Consulting: Who this is for

This service is for leaders who feel pressure to "do something with AI," but are not convinced that rushing in is responsible. You may see competitors experimenting, vendors pitching solutions, or teams trying tools informally. At the same time, you are aware that poorly governed AI can amplify existing problems, create new risks, or expose the organization to regulatory and reputational issues.

You are not looking for AI hype or demos. You are looking for a way to decide if, where, and how AI should be used in your organization without creating hidden cost or risk.

What this engagement is designed to provide

The focus of this work is governance and readiness. I help you determine whether AI use makes sense in your specific context, and if so, under what conditions. This starts with aligning any AI initiative to real business objectives, existing systems, and the organization's ability to absorb change.

A key part of the work is assessing whether the organization is ready for AI at all. AI acts as an amplifier. If data quality, processes, or decision ownership are weak, AI will magnify those weaknesses rather than solve them. I help identify and address those gaps before AI is introduced, so adoption does not turn into avoidable disruption.

Where AI use is appropriate, I help establish clear governance: what types of AI are acceptable, where they may be used, how decisions are reviewed, how data is handled, and who is accountable. The goal is not speed or novelty, but controlled, explainable use that the organization can support and defend.

Outcomes you should expect

Clients typically gain:

  • Clarity on where AI use makes sense and where it does not
  • A realistic understanding of organizational readiness for AI adoption
  • Reduced risk of AI amplifying data, process, or compliance problems
  • Clear boundaries for acceptable AI use across teams and vendors
  • An AI governance framework that supports responsible experimentation and use

The result is not "AI everywhere," but AI used deliberately, in ways that align with the business and can be explained later if questioned.

What this is NOT

This is not an AI transformation program or a technology showcase. I do not promote AI adoption for its own sake, and I do not promise competitive advantage simply by using AI tools.

I do not encourage bypassing governance, security, or compliance controls in the name of innovation. If AI use is not appropriate given the current state of the organization, I will say so clearly.

How engagements begin

The first step is a focused conversation about your objectives, constraints, and concerns around AI. We discuss what pressure you are feeling, what problems you hope AI might address, and what risks you want to avoid.

From there, I assess whether AI use is appropriate in your current context and what level of work would be required to use it responsibly. If there is a fit, I commit to when you will receive a clear plan covering readiness, governance, and next steps. You can then decide how to proceed.

Next step

If this sounds relevant, the next step is a short, practical conversation.

You can start by sending a brief note describing your situation: why AI is coming up now, what concerns you have, and what would make AI use acceptable in your organization.

The first conversation is about understanding your context, not selling AI. If moving forward makes sense, I will say so clearly. If it does not, I will say that as well.
